Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana

Tort Law

In Feb 2005, I was hired as a network engineer for an international vending company. Soon there after I began a sexual relationship with at the time my supervisors boss. She is married, with 2 kids and has been caught cheating on her husband in the past, I am single. After being promoted several times and eventually becoming a direct subordinate of hers, I asked to end the affair and soon there after my employment was terminated. After being terminated, I found out she disclosed info to the president about my ongoing legal problems which she had known about for over a year and swore to confidentiality, they agreed this is why I was let go.

I have since then sent them a confidential settlement letter, of which the contents I would rather not disclose, however the idea was to give them an opp to save face and settle before I take legal action.

My questions?

1. Does this constitute a tort claim for intentional interference with a business relationship?

2. How would one go about gathering facts and eventually filing a lawsuit of said claim?

3. Is this a federal or local claim?

4. What monies are generally awarded for these lawsuits?
