Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Indiana

I am in college and live in campus, and I got in trouble for having a swastika in my room. I had to attend a hearing and I said by the university telling me i had to remove it took away my freedom of expression. Could I sue the university for taking away my first amendment?

If it's a private university, then no. The First Amendment limits only what the government can do.

If your university is public, the answer will depend upon the facts. For example, if you have a roommate who was offended by the swastika (which seems likely, since somebody must have complained about it), your rights did not trump his. Somebody had to win that dispute, and the First Amendment does not say the winner had to be you.
