Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

CORRECTION! I live in Indiana, and receive two court summons from Dec 2001. I am

Unsure what these are for! Not sure if it was a bad check or just a debt of some sort? I am not sure what to do since this is so old, and I was never contacted to pay on this. It is very possible the debt is mine, I just don't know! The court papers say I have to attend, or I may be in contempt of the court, and the court house is 2.5 hours away! Help!!!

You should start by contacting the attorney whose name is on the complaint and summons, representing the plaintiff, for further information. But you still must go to court and file an answer before the due date or you will be in default and lose automatically. Don't delay---act immediately.
