Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

unknown unpaid xray bill

i (and my father as well) recently received a summons for an unknown unpaid xray done (4 yrs ago) while i was still covered under my parents insurance. never received a bill from dentist, received 1 bill from collection agency 3 mos ago and am wondering what i should expect in court--i have copies of my credit report from last year and a current copy with no mention of this debt--no mention of any debt--perfect credit and my mother and grandmother as witnesses that no bills were ever received. What else should i provide for the judge? and is there anyway that my travel expenses can get reimbursed--i have been living out of state for over 3 years! and i have to make childcare arrangements as well... how do i get those expenses reimbursed.. is that even possible? Thank you!

Re: unknown unpaid xray bill

You do not get your expenses reimbursed. Frankly, you owe the bill, so the credit report, etc are meaningless.

Why not contact the insurance company and get an explanation of why it was not paid? If you were covered at the time and it should have been by insurance, then the insurance should still pay.
