Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

my ex wife waited until our children were in their twenties before going to a judge an asking for arreaeage child support. i paid until my kids were 18.due to a serious dispute between us she did this out of spite.she told the court i had never paid a dime.i jad paid directly to her and since years had passed i had disposed of all receipts.my kids are 28 and 25 now.she filed two years ago and i have been paying ever since.the judge took her word and said if i had no proof i would have to pay.he went back to date we oringinally seperated and calculated suport from that date.as if i had never paid a dime.she had never filed until now.i supposedly owe 34000 dollars.i dont but have no proof.she has told me outside court that this is only to hurt me.not about money.what if anything can i do?

Evidence is what the court relies upon. Unfortunately you weren't able to produce your receipts, so the judge apparently accepted your ex's version. If you didn't have an attorney at trial, that was probably a mistake. There is always the possibility of an appeal, but there are time limits. You had best consult with an attorney immediately to see if you have any options.
