Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

i was just wondering how i can fight a collection for past rent and breaking a lease. i was forced to move out by the other person on the lease. id say it was a hostile situation. he never went down to sign a new lease. i contacted the rental company 2 days after i moved and let them know what the situation was. now i am stuck with this on my credit and the last i heard he had filed bankruptcy and when i contacted the company they wouldnt answer any questions they just told me i had to pay. what should i do?

If you signed the lease, you are bound by the terms and conditions. You might try to work with the landlord to see if you can make some kind of arrangement.
