Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

My son was pulled over for speeding. Apparently he had a pipe sitting on his dash by the heater. The cop seen it and arrested him. The cop gave him speeding ticket, OWI, possession charge and child endangerment. My son did not have any bags of marijuana on him or in the car, only a pipe with residue in it. My son was arrested and charged and they gave him a blood test. My son had his baby daughter in the car along with his girlfriend at the time. My son's girlfriend said, that he did not smoke anything in the car that day, and that the cop was not very nice to him or her. This happened in the state of Indiana. This is my son's first charge and arrest. Wouldn't this be a parapaneilia charge instead? Can he get some of these charges dropped? Also my son is going to school to be a RN nurse, works and takes care of his daughter and girlfriend, will this effect his career for nursing?

Your son needs to speak with an attorney who handles criminal defense matters. The OVWI with a minor under 18 in the car can be charged as a felony even if it is his first arrest. This could all impact his getting a professional license in the future.
