Legal Question in Elder Law in Indiana

Elder mother being harassed by daughter-in-law of deceased boyfriend.

My 78 year old mother-in-law recently lost her live in gentleman friend after an illness. For the past 9 weeks, she had total care of this man. He had been living with her for the past 3 years but their friendship has been since 1998. His daughter-in-law continues to call and threaten my mother-in-law. She is just trying to get ahold of anything of dollar value that the two elders purchased together. The only items are a bed and a scooter. Now she is threatening to get a lawyer and sue. Is there any way to protect my mother-in-law from this?

Not knowing what the daughter-in-law is saying to your mother makes it just about difficult to give you any suggestions. Changing the telephone number may be a good thing. Better would be making an appointment with an attorney and giving that person all the facts.
