Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Adopting a step-child

I read a question posted on 5/20/99 and replied to on 5/26/99 about a do it yourself adoption. The woman was told that she could file the paper work herself and save on the cost of an attorney. I would like to know where to the papers and average cost of doing this. I have checked at my local library, who generally has forms you can print on various legal issues, like divorce and was told they did not have them. That I would have to go through an attorney.

Thank you for any help any one can give me on this.

Dear Madam or Sir,

You may obtain papers at a book store (ie Half Price Books). However, I would advise obtaining an attorney to handle a matter such as this just because you want to minimize errors to ensure permanency for the child.
