Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

In a divorce proceeding it states for the minor child that the father will "maintain health insurance on the mionor child. The parties were ordered to pay uninsured expenses per the child support worksheet."

AM I corrrect in understanding this as I, the father, HAVE to provide health insurance.

Dental, vision, orthodonthia, etc is voluntary if I choose to for the child but not mandated by that statement above?

Thanks.

You should contact your divorce attorney who knows all of the circumstances of that order. Generally speaking, attorneys responding in this forum do not interpret exsting orders. Especially, since we do not personally review the document.

I can tell you that usually it is less expensive for the person ordered to provide insurance to provide full coverage if available through their employer as the cost of the premiums often end up being less than the share of medical expenses. This is especially true if orthodontice work is anticipated.
