Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Divorced in Indiana and now both parties live in Florida

Divorced in IN,spouse stopped alimony payments. I just found his address in FL, near where I now reside. How do I get him back to court or sue him? Must I serve him in IN and go to court there? We both live in FL. Alimony was written in divorce degree for property settlement. How is he served?

Your quickest route is to file in Indiana. However, you could register the Indiana Dissolution in Florida and then seek contempt there. That process will probably take longer, but ultimately may be a more efficient way to proceed. Without more facts, I can not be more definate. Feel free to email me at [email protected].

Domesticate your Indiana judgment in Florida and you can then seek enforcement in Florida.
