Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I need help please!!!!!!
I am a mother with a 3 year old son. We reside in NY state. I lived in Indiana 2 1/2 years ago with my boyfriend. He beat me up and I left Indiana and moved in with my parents. About 2 years ago, he was comming to Buffalo to see us. On the way, he broke into an 80 year old womans house, tied her up and stole her money. He was caught and sent to prison in Indiana. Now after 2 years, he decides he wants to see his son in prison. I do not want this to happen. I live 7 hours away and I work in a convience store. I can't afford the time off or the cost of the trip itself. Does Indiana have any jurisdiction in New York State? Do I have to bring my son to see him? He doesn't even know who he is. My ex-boyfriend still has 4 more years to serve. What can I do to stop this?
