Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

I am in a 2 year nursing program at a community college. I have been withdrawn by my school because an area hospital denied me into their clinical due to a misdemeanor C theft by check. I happen to know that another college in the area offering a 4 year nursing degree uses this same hospital for their clinicals and only does a limited background check on their students. In a limited background check, they only show felonies and misdemeanor A's. How can the hospital accept students from one school with misdemeanor B's and C's, but deny a student from another school with a misdemeanor C? Do I have a case of discrimination against the hospital?

Discrimination is only illegal if based on race, gender, ethnic background, those kind of factors.

No. I suggest that you talk with the liason between the hospital and your school to see if something can be worked out. You might also want to see an attorney to detemine if there is a way of getting the Misdemeanor removed.
