bank approved fraud account

if a person goes into a bank to apply for a loan and provides name, ssn, and dob is it standard procedure for the bank to run the info provided by the applicant and make sure the person is who they say they are? well wells fargo bank allowed someone to open a checking acct. and a credit acct. in my name using my ssn, name, but the wrong birth date. is there any litigation i can persue against the bank for not doing their job and allowing this guy to run my credit into the ground????

The first step is to do everything possible to correct the credit situation as lititgation against the bank will take time and your credit needs immediate attention.

More details concerning the transaction need to be provided in order to determine if there is a cause of action against the bank.
