Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

Sexual Harrassment

After months of 'flirting' (on her part) I had sex with my boss.We went on a couple 'dates' first and I told her we had to move very slowly. She did not agree and made her intentions known. I knew this was wrong but felt I had to in order to keep my job and mostly for moral reasons. The next day I let her know (via my roommate who also works for her) that this could never happen again and it was wrong. I even volunteered to quit (which she said ok to) I asked that she never contact me again. Since then I have been harrassed to the max by numerous phone calls, letters, flowers, knocks on my door etc. I never responded to any of it. She knows I am a single widowed father and wanted my daughter (age 9) to know nothing of this. She sure does now since she left so many messages etc. For that matter she even sent my daughter flowers too.The flirting at work went on a long time and included her touching me inappropriately until she broke me down. I felt I had no choice except to quit as I could not take the sexual inuendos that I knew would continue. We have no HR Department, it is a small business that she and her sister own. I have all the letters, cards etc, and a cell phone record to show incoming calls. Can I sue her?

Re: Sexual Harrassment

You may be able to bring an action against your employer, but I would need additional information to evaluate your situation. I need to know how many employees work for this employer and the severity and pervasiveness of her conduct. You can contact me by telephone at 424-1002 or by email at [email protected].
