Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Indiana

I had surgery on the back of my neck. Its been like 4 years my family doctor has been thinking that the doctor nicked a nerve. I have been taken off work after hurting myself at work by doing a lot of lifting my doctor said i irretated the nerve and I know have numbing and tingleing down the both my arms and hands as well as in the back of my neck. My question is there an limitation on time that I can go back on the doctor that done the surgery. My life has been changed drasticaly I was told to find another job I am a manager of a gas station and due to the weight limits I am unable to do my job. I asked human resource if there was anything within the company that I could do and was told no.
