Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana

Upon leaving my bank, I Tripped on a concrete walk that had heaved over the winter. I hit my face on the curb, cut my leg, scraped my hand and knees. I am sore to say the least. My husband took me in to report the incident and write a report. the girl taking the report said she knew exactly where this happened but they haven't fixed it yet. They wanted us to wait for the bank manager but our doctor's office was just across the street so we went there for treatment and we paid the $150.00 charges. My question is: what is the bank liable to pay. I'm not a gold digger but I want to know what is fair and what I need to do. Thank you so much.

There are many factors involved in determining what is fair. Based in the information provided, it sounds like the bank was at fault. The next question is what is a fair settlement. That depends on how badly were you hurt? Are the scars? Are you still in pain? Any follow-up medical care, prescriptions, lost wages? Are the injuries permanent? Those are all factors looked at in obtaining appropriate compensation. I hope that his answer helps.
