Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

I had a relative that has passed and he filed for bankruptcy on his home before he passed and we were not aware of this until after his passing. My question is what are the steps that we can take to get the home into our Name?

No way to know from these facts. You need a consultation with an estate attorney in your community who can guide you.

It is possible that the relative's house passed to the relative's creditors in the bankruptcy proceeding. You might start with the attorney who handled the bankruptcy, whose name you can ascertain from the clerk of the bankruptcy court. He can advise you as to the status of the home and what can be done, if anything. Even if the house is not lost to bankruptcy creditors, a probate proceeding would most likely be needed to properly place the title into the names of the proper heirs.
