Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Tenants that Bounce checks & Slow to Pay

Advice on handling renters of a home that bounced their first partial months rent and 1/2 security deposit to us and then requested to send funds overnight and they, instead, mailed regular mail and it still has not been received. It has been 5 days now since requested and I have been phoning them daily.

Not only can you evict them, but you might be able to collect a $500 penalty charge against them under the Indiana bad check statute. If you would like further assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Evict them. Go to the Small Claims Court for the township where your property is located, and obtain the forms and read the litigation manual. Good luck.
