Legal Question in Traffic Law in Indiana

My boyfriend drove my car without my permission( I was in bed at the time) and wrecked. He drunk and is in jail now. He was also driving with a suspended licence. I did not have insurance on my car. I was not driving it and was planning on getting insurance that day(payday). The police have issued me a citation for not having insurance. I called the BMV and they told me it is an automatic suspension of my licence. I have never had any points against my licence. I know I should of had insurance on the car but thats why I wasn't driving it. Is there anything I can do?
