First of all you were wise to seek legal advice. In many cases it is possible to avoid taking a conviction on a speeding ticket. In most Illinois counties it is often possible to enter into a plea bargain under which the state's attorney (prosecutor) recommends that the Judge place you on "supervision". This simply means that you can not take any convictions anywhere during the period of time you are on "supervision", (usually six months).
