Close the account of a deceased person
My mother died without leaving a will. She has a checking account with about $15 in it and I would like to close it. What papers do I need to close the account and how do I get them.

Talk to the bank. They probably hav an affidavit of heirship you can use.

askk the bank..it is too expensive to probate with no assets
