Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My grandmother gave my aunt power of attorney before she became ill. She has dementia now and we have had to put her in a nursing home. My aunt is moving out of state and wants to turn over power of attorney to me to make medical decisions for my grandmother. Is she able to do that since my grandmother is not competent to approve the transfer?

Only if the power of attorney authorizes it. Have an attorney in your community read it for you to answer this question. Without authority to do it in the document, it can't be done.
