Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

Do I have the right to view deceased mother's trust?

There was a will two years ago equally dividing my mother's estate between her three children. At her death, however, I was informed by my two siblings that I was to contact the lawyer about a trust left to me - far less than 1/3 of her estate. My question is - do I have a right to see the full trust agreement? And if so, how do I go about doing that?

Re: Do I have the right to view deceased mother's trust?

If you are a beneficiary of your mother's trust, you have the right to ask the attorney for a copy of the trust (or at least the trust provisions that pertain to you as a beneficiary), and most trusts provide for an accounting to be given to the benficiaries as well.

If the attorney does not give adequate answers to your questions, then you will want to have your own attorney (one who is well-versed in estate plannng and probate matters) represent your interests.

Good luck to you.
