Legal Question in Business Law in Iowa

I am part of a team setting up an apparel company.

Here are some of the questions I need your help on:

1. Is it best to have our company setup in Switzerland or USA that has goods manufactured in either Pakistan, Taiwan, or China? Or a parent and daughter company? If so, how much does this cost?

2. Also, we are trying to figure out the tax implications of having a company in one country, but selling products in another. ex.. Swiss based company that is selling American Football Jerseys in the USA. What are the tax implications for this? Do implications change if the product never touches Swiss soil? Or vice versa, USA company selling products to countries in the EU or Mexico?

Any advice you have would be appreciated.

I think you need the services of a full time for pay lawyer to answer all these questions particularly with respect to Swiss law. . What you should be thinking about more is controlling the cost of litigation which means being IN the place you'll have to litigate from. The farther the merch is from the market and the company from the courthouse the more problems you're going to have and the more intractable they will be. In addition, it occurs to me that the chances of getting satisfaction from anyone in Pakistan, Taiwan or China would be dodgy at best.
