Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

About 9 years ago my ex-wife moved from Pa. to Iowa with our two children. I was not notified until I went to court a year later to find out that she signed my rights away for my children, by forging my name on the document. As soon as she forged my name she moved back to Pa. When I went to court the judge laughed at me and said that I would have to go to Iowa to fight it. Last time I checked, forgery was and still is very illegal. Especially when it has to do with the lives of two children. What are my legal options? And could I get a Pro bono lawyer since she would be the one paying fines, serving jail time and paying for pain and suffering (since I've been to jail 5 times for non payment).?

Forgery still is illegal but for you the statute of limitations on that offense is probably long since passed. I doubt very much that you could get a pro bono lawyer but you can check with the Iowa State Bar Association
