Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

HI,

My husband told me he looked at a couple houses and thought we should buy one and rent it out.

We talked about this in the past but did not do it. Before we looked together this time I didn't know anything about it. My question he wants it in my name as if I am buying it myself, but he will set up

the financing. We have both been married befor, I am wondering what his motive for me buying it

and not having it joint. I always feel like I am being set up. So is he thinking then that would be my home to move into if our marrage didn't work out? Which is 1/4 of the house we live in together.

We bought this house 3 years ago, or I should say he did. I was waiting for closing to sign papers and he had already done it. He said it was easier for the financing to just have his name on it.

Our prenup says what we buy in our own name is our if we divorce. Also the house we live in would be divided, But the house in florida would be his.

Am I being set up for a divorce?

I guess the question is why would he want you as the sole purchaser and keep his name out of it? My guess would be that he could saddle the property with a lot of debt and then dump it in your lap when divorce time comes around.
