The doctor has certain legal obligations that may be forcing his hand with having to strongly suggest she go to a nursing home. I know you love your mother, but sometimes the right level of care can only be given in a nursing home setting. Without knowing the diagnoses, the treatments, etc. its impossible to know what should happen, but you should listen to the doctors advice. After all its the doctor who has the training and experience in medicine that can save your mothers life and improve the quality of her care. I think legally you should listen to your doctor. I know it will be tough to see your mother go into a nursing home, but if you really care about her you need to let go. As for the financial consequences of her not being in the home, thats another matter all together. Good luck and God bless you and your mother.
