Legal Question in Personal Injury in Iowa

Child injured in school bus accident.

My daughter was recently riding home on a school bus when a car ran a stop sign stiking another car and the bus. My daughter was transported by ambulance to a local emergency room, x-rayed and released. They determined it was a strain to the neck, prescribed advil and ice. The insurance company of the man who ran the stop sign contacted me and wanted to give me a check for $250.00 for inconvience if i would sign a release. I didn't sign. I am concerned of possible future health problems for my daughter. How long are they responsible if I don't sign a release? thanks

Re: Child injured in school bus accident.

To answer your question I must assume the collision occured in Iowa. If you're concern is for the future ask the doctor for a letter stating if your daughter is likely to incur any future medical expenses and then make the demand for settlement accordingly. Steve Lombardi
