Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa

My husband and I live in Iowa. We currently have a home that my husband purchased right before our marriage but paid off in cash after our marriage. My name is not on the deed/title. I want to purchase a home to be put in my name only and am wondering if that is possible in Iowa to have ownership of property singly and be married at the same time. Can we write up an agreement that states that each home belongs to each spouse without causing legal issues down the line?

I don't know what sort of reason you would not want to have joint ownership of marital property but if you are willing to give up your legal rights you could get any lawyer to do what you want. Whether it would stand up in court is quite another story and I do not have the answer to that.
