Legal Question in Workers Comp in Iowa

Can I still file a Workers' Compensation Claim

I have just voluntarily terminated my employment at a Insurance company. During the last month or so working there my right wrist is painful and I am experiencing numbness and tingling. Because I worked in the Workers' Compensation Claim Department, I was to embarassed to turn in a claim while employed there. Because of the nature of the business, there was absolutely no sympathy for anyone with a work-related injury. Rumors traveled fast in the business and everyone knew when a co-worker filed a claim. Am I still eligible for Workers' Compensations?

Yes you continue to be eligible for benefits even though you quit. But as you probably know you are required to give the employer notice of the injury within 90 days of the occurence of the injury. In a cumulative trauma case that day can be one of several dates. Call if you need help. Steve 515-222-1110
