Legal Question in Consumer Law in Italy

Being cheated by seller outside ebay

Last week I received an email from a seller through ebay. I have been agreed to buy an item from the seller through email. He said, once I have send the payment to him he will send the item to me. But now I have lost contact with him. He did not send the item to me. What should I can do now?

If you don't know who the seller is there is not much you can do from a legal perspective in terms of enforcing the contract.

I assume that you made the payment.

If you made the payment by credit card or eft it might be possible to 'recall' the payment. You need to speak to your bank.

I understand that e-bay has a process to deal with these situations and you ought to carefully consult the e-bay website for more information.

I understand that E-bay has a service that facilitates 'settlement' of these on-line transactions to protect the buyer and seller from dishonesty by the other party to the transaction.
