Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

extradition re: probation violation

My 18 yr.old son was convicted last yr(.he was a minor) of felony vandalism, he recieved probation , and has paid half of his restitution so far, he has since skipped out on his prob. officer, and left to another state 2000 miles away. What is the liklihood, that if he is stopped by the police( in his current state) that they would extradite him back to ks? also, is there a statute of limitations on this charge, they haven't yet issued a warrant , but I'm sure they will. He also intends to send me money to continue pay off the rest. (remaining 750.oo) any educated guess would be gratefully appreciated, a worried mom

Re: extradition re: probation violation

You might contact the county atty (prosecutor) and inquire whether they would persue the case against your son if he paid the remaining restitution, court costs. . .sometimes, if the victim is made whole the CA is not motivated to continue the case. . .I would try this approach.
