Legal Question in DUI Law in Kansas

I was pulled over in 2011 for a tail light being out. The officer had me do a sobriety test which I passed. He then said he would need to take me in to administer a blood test. I went with him willingly (honestly hadn't much to drink and did not feel drunk or buzzed) Unfortunately, I was a little above the legal limit. I was not given a ticket and a friend picked me up. I didn't think much about it and went about business as usual since I didn't have a ticket. I thought perhaps they let me go since I was cooperative and barely above the limit. Imagine my surprise when 2 years later I recieve court papers for DUI. Is it normal to wait that long before taking someone to court for this? I still didn't have a ticket either. I hired a lawyer who got me a diversion. My question now is they have suspended my license for missing court this year that I didn't even know I had. I haven't had my license since it was suspended in 2014 and need one badly as I am power of attorney and only caretaker for my Grandmother who has health issues due to cancer. Is there a way to get a restricted license that would allow me to drive her to dr. appts etc as needed? Or is it all just a money game and that's the only way to get my license reinstated? Don't want to have any more problems, it seems like the court tries it's hardest to get as many convictions as they can. Until the point of this one event that has spiraled into causing me untold problems, I had never even had a single ticket in my life or ever been to court period. Any advice?

If you have a failure to appear suspension, you.might also have a bench warrant. You need to have an attorney investigaten this. Perhaps your previous attorney should have told you that you might have to appear with them in Court later. Did the attorappear without you, at the hearingb that caused you get your licensed suspended? If you think you want to use a different attorney, you can contact me. Depending upon your suspension, need to travel for another may not be a good enough reason to get any restoration of driving privileges, without resolving the issue that guy you suspended.

Good luck
