Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Back child support

I owe quite a bit in back child support. My children are 22 and I haven't heard from them or their family for some time. I pay a little each month. Will this ever go away? I really feel cheated, my ex took everything and I did agree to the amount but, when I lost my job, I didn't know to have it lowered and I got behind real quick. I was told any wages I make will be garnished and all the taxes will go towards the support. I feel depressed about all this. Also, if I inherit money, will it all go towards the support first? Thank you.

Re: Back child support

You should collect all of your paperwork and get it to an experienced family law attorney. There are numerous issues surrounding this situation, and you may not owe quite as much as you think. Child support judgments go dormant if not revived. Some may be too old to collect.
