Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I have been asking for a divorce for months from my husband. He is in the army and because of a recent deployment I have not been able to file myself. He has filed for divorce finally. He has an attorney and I received the divorce papers in the mail on Monday.

He is now saying he is going to cancel the divorce because he believes we can work the marriage out and I just need to come home and stop running away from our problems.

Can he stop the divorce that he filed without my consent?

He can stop this particular divorce case by arranging for the voluntary dismissal of the lawsuit. You could, however, file a counterpetition for divorce along with your answer to his petition (you would have to do this before he dismisses). Then, if and when he dismisses his petition, you may proceed on your counterpetition.
