Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Moved back home

Previously lived in Texas, lived with girlfriend, had a son born. Problems came up, moved back to Ks. Months later,(2)she came to Ks. to live. Both working, her full time, me part. She demanded I stay home and take care of baby instead of daycare. She wasn't as patient so I did. Almost 9 months later, she is unhappy decides to move back to Tx. We have not done anything legal as of yet but I now feel a need to. I was assured she would not ever keep me from my son and we could both be in his life. Seems she has had a change of heart and I have not been able to even talk to her but once or twice. She hasn't filed for anything but I would like to try to get custody here in Ks. What will happen? WOn't she have to come here to continue legal proceedings or would I have to go to Tx.? NEED HELP

Re: Moved back home

Assume the child is in TX? If so, what is the length of time child has been there? Each state has it's own prescibed times for establishing residency. You should contact counsel where u reside to inquire the most appropriate procedure. . .i agree you should establish your paternity for the sake of your child.
