Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

When i was pregnant with my second son srs came to me with reports that my one year old at the time was being abused.when i went into labor with my second they took both of my kids cause i didn't leave my kids dad because of domestic violence issue we had one time. The youthville agency says that the reason for kids being removed from the home is because i stay with violent men and cant protect my kids from them.....when at first it was my son was being abused and they even sent papers saying that could find any evidence that he was being abused cause he wasn't! its between me and the dad and one time......im doing all my court orders and reintegration is the goal still and its been a year and i cant seem to figure why they take mine for that lame reason and dont take these other kids with broken bones clearly abuse and later die........is there anything a hired family law attorney can do that my court appointed one doesnt? get my kids home faster?

Custody cases are highly fact specific, meaning that they are all very different from each other. For example, it is hard to say if there is a reason your history with past boyfriends is viewed as particularly threatening to your children. Right or wrong, those involved with the reintegration process have made decisions based on what they perceive about your personal history and likely future.

Of course I am not aware of your past beyond what you have discussed in the above paragraph. For this reason, without more information, I feel it is difficult to give you very much sound advice. As far as your question about your current lawyer, a court appointed attorney has all the same legal authority through his or her license as a privately hired attorney, but whether there could be more done than what has already been done can not be fully evaluated without knowing what your attorney has already tried.
