i'm a u.s citizen from kansas my mother lives in mexico what do i need to get her a visa so she can come in the country?

It depends on a type of visa you have in mind. If you want to apply for your mother's Green Card (permanent residency), then you have to start the immigration process by filing the petition with the USCIS/Dept of Homeland Security.

If you mean a Visitor's visa, then there is nothing for you to file. However, there could be a number of issues when a mother of a US citizen applies for a Visitor's visa.
