Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Kansas

I bought a dog from a random outside a store. My ex and I both have our names on the vet bills and we both pay for his things. Our relationship didn't work out and she decided she wanted to take him. She went and got him licensed in her name only so she could claim him as her own. I had my name added to that license. I did get him microchipped in my name after she did that. Plus is doesn't help that I am a server and she usually pays for everything with her debit card and I give her cash. But looking at how much money she makes it obviously wouldn't add up when she pays for our rent and the bills with a check as well.
