Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas

Kansas Traffic Stop

What are the consequences in a district trial if an officer falsifies a police report to show that he pulled the defendant over for one reason and the police car surveillance tape proves that he claimed to pull the defendant over for another, unrelated reason?

Re: Kansas Traffic Stop

If an officer changes his story, the inconsistencies can be used at trial to question the credibility of the officer as a witness. If the resaon stated was false, then there may be grounds to exclude evidence from a search that stems from that decision to pull over.

You have not provided enough facts to make any kind of determination as to what significance the change in reason to pull over has in your particular case. Have your attorney look into the changed version.

Good Luck
