We are sorry to learn of your work-related injury. If you have a valid off-work slip, then the employer must abide by it. If you get a restricted duty slip, and the employer will accommodate your restrictions, you must go back to work under the light duty restrictions. A thumb amputation may involve hand impairment. Consult an experienced workers' compensation attorney. We are here to help. Just Google the name Ankerholz to visit our law firm website.
