Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky

Wage Garnishment

I lost a case in small claims court in 1998. There was a garnishment against my savings account. I paid the amount as the garnishment was going into place. Now I cannot get the money released. I have been told to notify the other party and get a letter of satisfaction from them...they cannot be found. How long can they hold that money before releasing it back to me? It is only $1600, but I just lost my job and need it!

Thanks!

Re: Wage Garnishment

Go back to the court that granted the judgment with proof of satisfaction and ask them to release the garnishment or file a satisfaction.
