Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

Misdeamenor Speedy Trial Law

I was arrested in Kentucky for Terrist Threatening. This Charge is same as Assault in most states. This all started when a neighbor blocked off my driveway and we had some words. He had a hidden tape recorder on him and went down and swore out a warrant for me.I have responded to Ky four times to answer these charges, Each time it gets delayed. I have filed a civil suit about the roads but my attorney does not handle criminal cases. My arrest was July 7,2003 and i am still out on bond. I must appear April 19 for my next hearing. NOT Knowing if it will again be continued, how long can the procecutor continue this? Is there a time limit on misdeamenors? I have not requested any of these delays and have not signed away my right to speedy trial?

Re: Misdeamenor Speedy Trial Law

I am not sure of the legal reasons but in most criminal matter, the longer the better. For your own sake, DON'T rush the Prosecutor and get an attorney to handle this for you.
