Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

A child support question, my son is in a state run treatment center for some problems, they are releasing him on his 18th birthday, I have been paying support for 16 years, this last year the state has been receiving it. He got his GED months ago. And school is over should the support obligation be over on his birthday?

Yes, however, you will likely need to bring a motion before the court in order to end your child support obligation, it will not end automatically. Check your local rules to make certain you comply when submitting your motion if you intend to do so pro se. Because the state has been receiving the support, your County Attorney's office was probably involved. If so, contact them, and they should be able to assist.
