Re: Ex-wife changing last name

She would have had to file a Petition for Name Change with the District Court in her county of residence. On that Petition, it provides that you are to receive notice of the Petition and have an opportunity to contest the proposed change. Check under her name and the childs name in the court clerks office. If she didn't provide proper notice to you of the court hearing to change the child's name, then you can go in and move to set aside the name change and contest it officially. If you need help, feel free to call. Good luck.
