Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

home owner

my husband and i own a home in bullitt county ky. he has recently locked me out and changed the locks so i could not enter and he will not let me in. what can i do, the police say that it is a civil matter and i need to go to court over it. please answere as quickly as possible

Unfortunately, the easiest avenue for you to proceed is through court. Other options could possibly result in him filing criminal charges or for protective orders.

An attorney would need to know the surrounding background story of the marriage to give you a good answer. Most important would be any history of violence or threatening behavior. It is your residence so you have a right to be there, but without the support of law enforcement, forcing your way in would be risky.

The safest thing to do is file an action in court.
