Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

rights of a mother

My sons father and I were never married and we share custody of our 5 year old son. He has since married and his wife has threatened myself on several occasions and today she came to pick up my son for his weekend visit. He is only five and does not always want to go over for his visitations. He was crying so I walked him out to the car and she proceeded to yell at him to get in the car and the she verbally attacked me in front of him and her son who was in the car. She proceeded to flip me off as she was driving away. My question what can I do legally so my son can only be picked up by his father on his weekends. Also this woman has three other children from a past relationship that she does not have custody of and does not ackknowledge. What advice do you have concerning this matter. Thank you

Re: rights of a mother

Unless there is some court order saying that she can pick up your son, simply write a letter to the father saying you will not allow your son to go with his wife and that he must pick him up personally. Then, do not let your son go with this vile person.

You can expect repercussions - such as the father filing something in court. Be sure to document every interaction - you may even want to have a tape recorder going during interactions.
