Is a Independent Contractor required by law to have Occupational Insurance coverage?

I'm sorry, would need more information. Are you an employer of others as an independent contractor? Are you incorporated in some way and counting yourself as an employee? Or are you an individual doing independent contract work? Who is designating you as an independent contractor - yourself or someone you work for?
