Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

DWI Charge Settlement

Hi

I had a DWI charge and I didn't meet my charges due to moving out of the country. I'd like to clear that charges. I don't know exactly what my options are, or to be clear I don't know what the procedure in that case.

I used to live in Lafayette and my court was there, too. I had an emergency to leave everything and go home. I would like to see if I face any legal problem when I go back to my life in Lafayette, or I can settle this when I get back in person.

Please let me know what my case is and how you can help me.

P.S. If you need any more information, please let me know.

Regards,

Re: DWI Charge Settlement

If you can, call the Lafayette Parish District Attorney's office and ask for someone who handles DWIs and explain the situation and why you had to leave the country. There is probably a Warrant for your arrest for failure to appear, however, for a good reason, those can be recalled.
